Marjorie Ellen Walker, 99, of Lone Tree, went home Monday, March 27, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 15, at Joan Morgan's residence, 6080 Otter Creek Rd. SE, Lone Tree (River Junction), from 2 to 3 p.m. Inurnment will be held at 4 p.m. at Lone Tree Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to First Responders of Lone Tree in memory of Marjorie.

Marjorie Ellen Mullinnix was born Jan. 20, 1918, in Johnson County, Iowa, the daughter of James and Ella (Patterson) Mullinnix. She was baptized in the Methodist Church of River Junction. Marjorie was united in marriage on June 24, late 1930s, to Marvin Walker in Iowa City at the Methodist Church. She worked as a cook supervisor at the University of Iowa for Hillcrest dining services for 27 years.
Marjorie was a member of the Old Settlers Association. She enjoyed gardening, mowing her lawn, the Chicago Cubs, coffee and sweets, especially pie, her cats, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.
Marjorie will be dearly missed by her daughter, Ruth Walker of Lone Tree; grandson, Marvin Walker; and great-grandchildren.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James Walker; five brothers, James Leo Mullinnix, John Mullinnix, Glenn Mullinnix, Stanley Mullinnix, and infant Robert Mullinnix; and sister, Pauline Westfall.
