Marjorie June (Carter) Siefken, 87, of Marion, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Pastor Dennis Johnson. The family will greet guests one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial: Cedar
Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin; son, Richard (Penelope) Siefken of Marion; grandchildren, Jason Duane (Lindsay) Siefken and Jamie Richard (Jennifer) Siefken; and great-grandchildren, Dean, Brody and Crosby.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marjorie was born June 25, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Theodore and Cecelia (Lauger) Carter. She married Marvin Siefken on June 30, 1946, in Marshalltown, Iowa. Majorie was a wonderful cook and loved to read, paint and spend time with her family.
