Marjorie A. "Marty" Fauconniere, 89, of Marion, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at Silver Oak Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marion. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time. Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Marty was born June 16, 1932, in Newark, Del., the daughter of George Washington and Beulah (Marvel) Craig. On Aug. 1, 1953, Marty was united in marriage to Frank Francis Fauconniere in Maryland. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Marty and her husband owned and operated the former Fauconniere Manufacturing Co. in Central City, Iowa. She later worked as a telephone operator for McLeod Telecommunications until her retirement. Marty was a 50-plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Marion Chapter 183. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter's dogs, Diesel and Kodiak. Marty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marty is survived and lovingly remembered by her two children, Chris (Tammy) Fauconniere and Marcy (Corwin Smith) Fauconniere, both of Marion; two grandchildren, Haley and Blake; and four great-grandchildren, Braxton, Andre, Naomi and Vivien.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
