Marjorie Elaine Lockwood, 91, of Marion, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, at
St. Luke's Hospice unit,
Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 5
to 7 p.m. Friday, June 16, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Josh Hansen. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Marjorie was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Garrison, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Ella (Grimm) Bridge. She married Charles Lockwood in 1962. Marjorie was employed at Rockwell in Cedar Rapids for 15 years. Together, Marjorie and Charles owned and operated the Mount Vernon Motel until they sold the motel in 1982.
Marjorie is survived by her sons, Ronald (Julia) Ohrt of Olathe, Kan., and Scott (Cathy) Lockwood of Marion; stepdaughter, Deb (Dan) Smith of Springville; grandchildren, Brian (Ashley) Ohrt of Frisco, Texas, Aaron (Melissa) Lockwood of Ida Grove, Haley Lockwood of Longmont, Colo., and Connor Lockwood of Cedar Rapids; three stepgrandchildren, Christian (Kim) Abodeely of Maui, Hawaii, Ryan (Patience) Abodeely of Center Point and Jared (April) Abodeely of Urbandale; many great-grandchildren; and many stepgreat-grandchildren.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; three brothers, Wayne, Glenn and Verle; and two sisters, Charlene and Thelma.
In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that memorial contributions be made in Marjorie's memory to ManorCare Health Services, Cedar Rapids.
