Marjorie L. Christophersen, 81, of Clarence, died Friday, May 23, 2014, at Unity Point-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence. Burial will follow in the Clarence City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nick Scott, Eric Scott, Loren Christophersen, Connor Christophersen, Michael Thies and Michael Vens. Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Brown. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Marjorie was born March 23, 1933, in Le Claire, Iowa, the daughter of Harry A. and Mae E. McFate Fletcher. Marjorie was united in marriage to George Brown in 1949 and then married Alfred Christophersen in 1954. Marjorie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence. During her lifetime, she worked at Tipton Walmart, Clarence Nursing Home, B & K Grocery and the Calendar Factory. She and Alfred cherished their life together and living in their home surrounded by the love of their family.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Lauri (Roger) Reid of Moline, Ill.; sons, Steven (Corrine) Brown of Paducah, Ky., Roger Christophersen of Clarence, Paul Christophersen of Cedar Rapids and Todd (Michelle) of Palo; her grandchildren, Eric, Nick, Chris, Loren, Jaime, Connor and Abbie; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Robbie and Ali.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Verla Vens; and her brother, Vernon "Gabby" Fletcher.
