Marjorie A. Marsh, 89, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Landmark Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
She was born Aug. 17, 1924, in Riverside, Iowa, the daughter of the late William J. and Anna B. (Swanner) Cole. She was united in marriage to Thomas F. Marsh on Sept. 29, 1942, in Fort Ord, Calif., he preceded her in death in August 1986. She then married James B. Brenner in Cedar Rapids on Nov. 18, 1989, who preceded her in death in 2002.
Marjorie worked for Rockwell-Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids for more than 30 years, until her retirement. After her retirement, she helped her husband, James run a card shop in Jefferson City. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she participated with the church's prayer line. Marjorie was an avid knitter who donated items to various charities around Jefferson City.
Survivors include five children, Joseph (Jamie) Marsh, San Antonio, Texas, Mary Jo Robinson, Jefferson City, Deb Meuchel, Jefferson City, David Marsh, Kansas City, Kan., and John Marsh, Leon; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Maxine Marsh, Florida; an adopted sibling, William Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands and several brothers and sisters.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jefferson City. Burial will be held at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Smile Train.
