Marjorie L. Blaine, 84, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Dick Ernst. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Private family inurnment: Campbell Cemetery, Bertram.
Survivors include her son, Rick (Merrill DeGroot) Blaine of Cedar Rapids; stepson, Rex (Sandy) Blaine of Rockford, Ill.; and a sister, Donna King of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Marjorie was born April 24, 1930, in Iowa City. On July 13, 1951, she married Kyle Blaine. He died in 1997. Marjorie worked as an office assistant for Oakland Gardens Apartments for many years. In her younger years, she enjoyed camping and bowling, and was active in the Eagles Club.
Marjorie loved spending time with her family and friends, especially going out to eat and attending craft shows and flea markets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Ione Smith; husband, Kyle; and daughter-in-law, Mary Ann.
