Marjorie E. Beitz, 80, of Marion, passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at her home. Visitation: 3:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Tim DeVries. Burial: Lafayette Cemetery, Alburnett.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Richard (Grace) Beitz and Sheila (Tim) Levasseur; grandchildren, Jenniffer (Jeff) Whitlock, Veronica (Dan) Probasco, Adam (Katie) Beitz, Richard (Amanda) Beitz and Michael (Kate) Levasseur; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert Matheny and Helen Brown; and many other loving extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Beitz; parents; and 15 siblings.
Marjorie was born Feb. 23, 1936, in Center Point, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Abbi (Schminkey) Matheny. On Oct. 22, 1955, she married Robert Beitz. Marjorie enjoyed life as a housewife, raising her family in Alburnett. She also loved caring for her family.
