Marjorie A. Schrock, age 84, of Bourbonnais, IL, passed away September 14, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 19, 1940 in Central City, IA, the daughter of John A. & Erma (Hindman) Dixon.
Beloved wife of Gerald L. Schrock who preceded her in death on August 17, 2019. Cherished mother of Greg (Pam) Schrock, Mary (Tim) Schweigert, and Susan (John) Mahony. Energetic nana to David (Leah) Schrock and baby girl due in February 2025, Brody (Leah) Schweigert, Jack (Sierra) Mahony, Allie (Jony) Chagas and baby boy due in January 2025, Kathyrn Schrock, Sam Mahony, Ben Mahony, and Colman Mahony. She is the adored sister of Sharon (Ed), Louise, Mary (Al), Laura (Paul), Steven, John P., and Kenneth. In addition to her husband of 58 years, Gerald L. Schrock, Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; husband’s parents; brother-in-law, Ed; and two brothers, David Dixon and Scott Dixon.
Marjorie was an avid reader, a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, a self-taught gourmet cook, a gardener, (you can take the girl out of the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the girl), witty, stubborn, and perseverant to the end.
Marjorie was a relentless prayer warrior and friend to many. She was a faithful member of Calvary Bible Church in Bourbonnais. She was loved by many for her example as a believer in Jesus Christ and her unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and church.
She and her husband opened their home to many guests over 60 years, providing hospitality and respite for those in need. She enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse, spending the majority of her career at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL and Provena St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Private interment will be held at Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Calvary Bible Church in Bourbonnais.
