Marita Ann (Mulherin) Schmidt, age 73 of Auburn Hills, Mich., formerly of Walford and Fairfax, Iowa, peacefully passed away February 18, 2025 after a private, courageous and strong battle with lung cancer. Beloved wife of the late Darrel Schmidt; daughter of the late Raymond and Bernice Mulherin; loving mother of Jessika (Stephen) Brown and Trevor (Abbey) Schmidt. Stepmother of Cathryn Schmidt, and Mark (Donna) Schmidt; proud Gigi of Jillian, Benjamin, Garrett, and Natalie; dear sister of Elaine (late Larry) Arnold of Cedar Rapids, Carolyn (Jim) Roberg of Cedar Rapids, Loren Mulherin of Fairfax, Marlene (Ron) Dusil of Fairfax, the late Robert Mulherin, and the late Raymond Mulherin, Jr. Also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
