MARION E. "MARTY" HYMES

Marion E. "Marty" Hymes, 84, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, at Squaw Creek Baptist Church in Marion with Pastor James Perry officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Clarence Cemetery with military honors.
Marty was born July 6, 1937, in Unionville, Mo., to Marion and Daisy Albertson Hymes. He married Dorothy Fisher on July 8, 1956. She passed away on July 1, 1987.
Survivors include his son, Jeffrey of Westminster, Colo.; daughters, Beverly (Gale) Speer of Cedar Rapids and Kimberly (Chris) Schmidt of Ankeny, Iowa; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Daisy (Jerry) Griffin of Sylvis, Ill., and Naomi (Mike) Sellers of Sigourney, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Al; and sisters, Bonnie and Zeola.
Marty served his country in the Navy, loved fishing, hunting, the J.C.s, and was a former fire chief for the city of Clarence.
