Marilyn June Yirkovsky, 71, of Marion, passed away peacefully Dec. 12, 2014, while surrounded by family due to a short illness.
Marilyn was born to Mary and Warren Mundy Sr. on June 30, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On June 22, 1961, she was married to Darrell Yirkovsky.
Marilyn was a mother not only to her own children, but to everyone. She had a heart of gold and enough love to go around. She loved being with family the most. Her hobbies were planting flowers, playing bingo, watching soap operas and doing word finds.
She was survived by a brother, George Mundy (Yirkovsky); children, Mary Merwin, Dafney Yirkovsky, Holly Yirkovsky, Johnny Yirkovsky, Ronald Yirkovsky and DeAnn Yirkovsky; grandchilren, Mandy Higdon, Angela Emerson, Travis Harris, Kari Merwin, Nicole Harris, Crystal Harris, Blaze Yirkovsky, Jordan Stolfus, Toni Yirkovsky, Jasmine Stolfus, Hope Yirkovksy, Faith Yirkovsky, Anthony McCoy, Aonica McCoy, Adriel McCoy and JoDaysha Grant.
She was preceded in death by her mom, dad, two sisters, Laveda Wade and Rosie Mundy; two brothers, Russell and Warren Mundy; a grandson, Ronald Yirkovsky Jr.; and her beloved husband, Darrell Yirkovsky.
Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. She is now flying free with her loving husband she has missed very dearly.
