Marilyn A. Wenger, 85, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept.
8, 2018, at United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Phil Rogers, with visitation one hour before service. Inurnment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Marilyn was born Jan. 31, 1933, in Ryan, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Fern (Rainbird) Vifian. She was a 1951 graduate of Manchester High School. On Dec. 13, 1953, Marilyn married Richard Wenger at the United Methodist Church in Manchester. Marilyn worked at Groves Drug Store, the Delaware County assessor's office and a local attorney. Marilyn was an active member of the United Methodist Church and Rebecca's Circle. She loved to help and serve others, teach Sunday and Bible school, volunteer with the hospital auxiliary, and many other activities. Family and friends were very important to Marilyn, and she loved keeping in touch. She enjoyed playing cards and, in her younger days, riding their Harley with her husband.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa (Mark) Lusk of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; grandchildren, Graci Ann Lusk of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Jeremy Wenger, Anna Wenger and Bennett Wenger, all of Huntsville, Ala.; great-grandson, Kai; brother, Jerry (Mary) Vifian of Cedar Rapids; and a nephew, Bob (Jo) Joy of Des Moines.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Wenger; a son, Marc Wenger; and sister, Patricia Joy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Second Helpings in Marilyn's memory.
