Marilyn Tiedemann, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, after an extended struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at St. John's Catholic Church, Mount Vernon, by the Rev. John R. Flaherty. Visitation:

1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, Lisbon.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard; sons, Kevin, Jeff (Lynette) and Terry (Melissa) Tiedemann; grandchildren, Daniel and Bradley Angell-Tiedemann, Emily, Timothy and Benjamin Tiedemann, and Henry and Kate Tiedemann; several great-grandchildren; nieces, JoAnn (David) Stoner and Kristen Tiedemann (Andy Campos); and many extended nieces, nephews and friends.

Marilyn Ann Hoffman was born July 11, 1934, in rural Lisbon, to Harold "Glenn" and Anna (Kadera) Hoffman. She grew up on the family farm, attended Standing Rock School in rural Lisbon, and graduated Salutatorian from Lisbon High School in 1952. She married Bernard Tiedemann on June 20, 1953, at St. John's Catholic Church in Lisbon. She worked in the Registrar's office at Cornell College, retiring after 30 years.

She enjoyed spending time each month with friends in their RV Camping Club and playing cards with friends, especially solitaire, euchre and pinochle. Marilyn enjoyed reading, doing small cross-stitch projects, and cherished spending time with family.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Tiedemann-Angell; parents; and brothers, Harold and Kenneth Hoffman.

The family will be directing all memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
