Marilyn Theresa Miell, 80, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, due to complications of multiple sclerosis. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Springville, officiated by Father Andrew Awotwe-Mensah. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marilyn was born Sept. 13, 1942, the daughter of Joseph and Armella Ries. She graduated from St. Patrick Catholic High School in Ryan, in 1960. She married Jack Miell on Sept. 29, 1962, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ryan. They were married for 60 years.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Jack; children, Tony (Kelly) Miell, Jeff (Jennifer) Miell, Teresa (Todd) Chally and Barney (Elizabeth) Miell; grandchildren, Heather (Josh) Sproston, Jennifer (Tony) Puetz, Kaitlyn Miell, Jessica (Justin) Sheridan, Erika Chally, Anna Miell, Joseph Miell, Jonathan Miell, Kaylee Asquith and Bryce Asquith; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Staebell, Ruth Phelps, Diane (Richard) Schwendinger, Karol (Marvin) Beatty and Karen (Charles) Arnold; brother, Dave (Sheila) Ries; brother-in-law, Rick (Karen) Miell; and sister-in-law, Patricia Miell.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dale Ries; parents-in-law, Kenneth (Wilma) Miell; brothers-in-law, Ivan German, Joe Staebell, Bill Phelps and Gary Miell; and sisters-in-law, Marge Spratt and Dixie Myers.
