Marilyn Joyce Schaul, 76, of Manchester, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.
She was born Aug. 2, 1939, in Dyersville, the daughter of Aloysius and Emma (Klaus) Lueck. Marilyn was raised and educated in the area, attending Catholic school.
On Oct. 15, 1960, Marilyn was united in marriage to Paul Schaul in Dyersville. Eight children were blessed to this union. Marilyn and Paul farmed most of their married life near Coggon. They moved to Manchester in 2010.
Marilyn was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ryan and currently a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Merry Makers.
Marilyn will be remembered as one who loved and enjoyed her family.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Schaul of Manchester; seven children, LuAnne (John) Biggs of Masonville, Linda (John) Sturbaum of Walker, Liza (Louis) Kaufman of Urbandale, Loras (Samantha) of Cedar Rapids, Larry (Annette) of Springville, Leon Thomas (Susie) of Earlville and Alan (Gena) of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Verna Mae) Lueck of Dyersville; and two sisters, Gracie Putz of Manchester and Ruth (Fred) Willenborg of Bella Vista, Ark.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Laura Schaul, in infancy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Deloris and Julius Recker and Sally and Ray Langel; one brother-in-law, Fred Putz; and two grandchildren, Patrick Michael and Kara Michael.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Mary Catholic School.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, by Father Joseph Schneider. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, where there will be a 3 p.m. Scripture service. Friends also may call one hour before Mass at the church on Thursday. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Ryan.
