Marilyn Heddinger Kreutzer Hannon, 86, a resident of The Meth-Wick Community, died on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the Hospice unit at St. Luke's Hospital. Per Marilyn's wishes, there will be a private family graveside service at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
Survivors include a daughter, Kelly Hannon (John) Siegel of Howards Grove, Wis., and two sons, Dennis Kreutzer of Cedar Rapids and Steven (Penny) Kreutzer of Marion. She also is survived by a grandson, Travis M. Johnson of Milwaukee, Wis.
A lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, she was born on March 17, 1930, the only child of John Forrest and Mabel Hines Heddinger. Marilyn attended Cedar Rapids schools, and in 1946, married Leland Kreutzer in Iowa City. They were later divorced. In 1963, she married Roy E. Hannon, her husband of 43 years, in Cedar Rapids. Roy passed away in 2007.
Marilyn was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and AARP. She was active in a number of bowling leagues from the 1950s to 1980, including the Cedar Rapids and Iowa 600 Clubs. At one time she held the highest women's average in Cedar Rapids. Marilyn was a retiree of Rockwell-Collins and 1st Avenue Development Co.
She was an avid reader of history, and in later years she and Roy enjoyed camping and fishing at Coralville, in Minnesota and at Rathbun Lakes.
Marilyn was a wonderful wife, loving mother and grandmother, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to Meth-Wick Arbor Place or to St. Luke's Hospice.
