Marilyn J. Eagle, 83, passed away Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at her Riverside home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Riverside. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Following the committal services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at St. Mary's Parish Center. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Riverside with a 4 p.m. vigil. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Marilyn. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.
Marilyn J. Fesler was born April 20, 1933, in Riverside, Iowa, the daughter of Lyle J. and Bessie D. (Gerot) Fesler. On Dec. 1, 1951, Marilyn was united in marriage to Richard W. Eagle in San Diego, Calif. She was a nursing assistant at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for over 40 years. Marilyn was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and making kolaches.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her children, Cheri White of Iowa City, Diane (Damien) Lorang of Sioux Falls, S.D., Linda (Don) Krotz of Ainsworth and Paul (Sherri) Eagle of Riverside; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Philbin of Madison, Wis., and Shirley Clausen of Solon.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one infant brother and three sisters, Marjorie Walsh, Marie Reed and Wilma Buline.
