Marie Rose Krall, 93, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
Marie was born Aug. 28, 1921, in Iowa City, the daughter of Frank and Pauline Shebanek Shimitz. She married Donald Krall on April 19, 1944. Donald passed away Nov. 15, 1987.
She is survived by her children, Donna Bright (Howard) of Harpers Ferry, Ginny Steinbrech (Daryl) and Ken Krall (Wendy); seven grandchildren, Michelle (Terry) McAtee, Matt (Molly) Steinbrech, Jayna (Nic) Shalla, Sherri (David) Schott, Emily Krall, Luke (Casey) Krall and Abby (Brandon) Hove; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret (Terry) Handley; and special friend, Mel Braaten.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother.
Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, dining out, fishing, watching bull-riding and "Dancing with the Stars."
