Marie Hinz, 83, of Iowa City, passed away Nov. 7, 2017, at Oaknoll Retirement Residence in Iowa City.
Services tentatively are being planned for early December and will be announced when dates are determined.
Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 16 years ago, Marie fought with her usual
high-spirited determination, positivity and humor.
Marie is survived by her husband, Gordon; three sons, Scott (Mallory) of Wellman, Iowa, Mark (Larissa) of Harlan, Iowa, and Brent (Tami) of Westerville, Ohio; sister, Gladys (Dean) Morford of Arizona; brother, Ted (Jeanne) Hawley of Vail, Iowa; five grandchildren, Caitlin of Des Moines, Iowa, Allyson and Kylee, both of Harlan, and Jakob and Madelyn, both of Westerville, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Norma Hawley of Denison, Iowa.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bob.
Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church or Iowa City Hospice.
