Marie Hope Hannah, 47, of Lisbon, died Sunday, March 29, 2015. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, by Celebrant Mary Morgan. Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial: Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon, with military honors by the Iowa National Guard Funeral Honor Guard and American Legion Cyclops Post 109.
Survivors include her husband, Darrin; children, Samantha Mahler (Luke Gowans) of Waterloo, Deborah Mahler of Cedar Falls and Andrew Mahler of Lisbon; her mother, Kathy Moenk of Robins; her father, Garry (Elaine) McCune of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Renee Comstock of Cedar Rapids, Tina Carroll of Cedar Rapids, Joe Carroll of Marion, Jennifer Cole of Hiawatha and Britannia Watkinson of Cedar Rapids; mother-in-law, Susie (David) Bright of Foosland, Ill.; father-in-law, Kyle (Mary) Hannah of Neffs, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Brandi Bright of Fisher, Ill., Keri Beers of Mechanicsville, Va., and Kami Dietrich of Kempton, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marie was born in Cedar Rapids on July 12, 1967. She graduated from Kennedy High School in 1985 and Upper Iowa University. She proudly served in the Iowa National Guard for 10 years. Marie worked for the Buchannan County Department of Human Services where she touched many lives.
On July 27, 2010, she married Darrin Hannah in Independence. Marie loved photography, especially taking black and white outdoor pictures. She also had a passion for researching genealogy.
Memorials are suggested to the support the pediatric burn unit at the Shriners Hospital for Children-Cincinnati, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229.
