MARIE "JO" GUNDER

Marie "Jo" Gunder, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Hallmark Care Center, Mount Vernon. No visitation or memorial service is planned. Private inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Crimb; son, Michael (Renee) Gunder of Onslow; grandchildren, Nona Schwandt and Scott Gunder; great-grand-children, Kristen Fletcher, T.J. Schwandt, Tyler Schwandt and Evan Gunder; great-great-granddaughter, Jaelynn Jo Arnold; sister, Evelyn (Gilbert) Saldana; and brother, Frank (Pauline) Romero.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Gunder; daughter, Yolanda Sue Gunder McLane; and great-great-grandson, Brantley Arnold.
Marie Josepha Romero was born March 10, 1927, in Colonias, N.M., the daughter of Antonio and Frances (Lucero) Romero. On Feb. 25, 1946, she married Crimb Albert Gunder in Clovis, N.M. She worked at Weyerhaeuser Co. for nearly 20 years.
Jo was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading, cooking and sewing.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at Hallmark Care Center and Essence of Life Hospice for all the love and support that was given.
Memorial donations may be given in her name to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 510 First Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405.
