Marie Frana, 98, of Decorah, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Wellington Place Nursing Home in Decorah. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 W. Main St., Decorah, with the Rev. Daniel Knipper presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family would like to greet people at a luncheon in the basement of the church following the service.
Marie is survived by her eight children, Linda (Mel) Krewson, Cedar Rapids; Lavonne (Dan) Wasser, Austin, Colo.; Linus "Butch" (Myra) Frana, Marion; Lois (Mark) Freme, Cedar Rapids; Lorna (Jim) Hasken, Muscatine; Leon (friend, Celia Dunn) Frana, Savannah, Ga.; Lisa (Bill) Parkinson, Parker, Colo.; and Lynette Frana, Littleton, Colo.; 15 grandchildren, Steve (Kelly) Krewson, Erin Krewson, Adam (Chere) Wasser, Nathan (Amy) Wasser, Nick (Johanna) Wasser, Erik, Reid and Ian Frana, Meghan Freme, Andrew, Chris and Emily Hasken, Loredana Frana and Shelby and Jackie Parkinson; eight great grandchildren, Abigail and Colin Krewson, Noah Brostad, Cade, Carter and Callie Wasser, MacKenzy Wasser and Aubrey Wasser; three brothers-in-law, Jerome (Lois) Frana, Ossian; Marcelline Frana, Charles City; and Julius Frana, Fort Atkinson; two sisters-in-law, Georgina Frana, Edina, Minn., and Elaine Frana, Decorah; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
