It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, Maribelle Artis (Dudley) Benesh, on May 3, 2024, surrounded by family at The Iowa Veterans Home. Maribelle was born on February 2, 1933.
Maribelle and Faye were married on April 17, 1953, and had four children: Dale (Shari) Benesh, Denise (Richard) Arnold, Duane (Christine) Benesh, and Dianna Baker. They were blessed with eighteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Maribelle worked at Cryovac in Cedar Rapids for twenty-eight years. After retirement they enjoyed traveling, camping, dancing, and enjoying time with family and friends. Maribelle also enjoyed cooking, making candy, and caring for her friends and family in their time of need.
She was preceded in death by her husband Faye D. Benesh, nine siblings, her parents: Lowell and Alma (Price) Dudley and honorary son Michael Williamson.
Special thank-you to Irene Klamas, of Cedar Rapids, for her lifelong friendship, and they also shared the same birthdate.
Maribelle will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Celebration of Life services will be 12 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Brosh Chapel. A private family inurnment will be in Troy Mills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Ovarian Cancer Research in Iowa City.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the caring staff at The Iowa Veterans Home.
