Marianne Bastian, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, May 4, 2014, in St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial
services: 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Thomas E.S. (Ted) Miller. Survivors include her brother, Edward Bastian of Santa Barbara, Calif.; niece, Alexandria (Nulty) White of New York City; nephews, Jonathan Bastian of Louisville, Ky., and Paul Keeley of Los Angeles; and cousins, Ralph (Teresa) Bastian of San Francisco, Emily (Robert) Rogers of Geneva, Ill., Victoria (Timothy) Walch of Iowa City and Edith Irons of Charlotte, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Bastian; and cousin, Bruce Irons.
Marianne was born Nov. 24, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Ann (Winslow) Bastian. She was a loving caregiver of children, elders and innumerable friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's Hospice, First Presbyterian Church or Cedar Rapids Fire Department Public Education Program.
Marianne embodied an incomparable combination of humor, compassion, love, wisdom, strength and loyalty. She was loved by absolutely everyone.
