Mariana Lawrence, 59, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with visitation to begin one hour prior. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Mariana was born Nov. 14, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Kenneth and Donna (Burns) Harms. She graduated from Marion High School in 1979, and attended UNI. Mariana was united in marriage to Perry Lawrence on Oct. 7, 2007, at Boies Bend Park in Quasqueton, Iowa. Mariana was always a self-sacrificing homemaker who was a whole-hearted giver to all. She was a passionate Master Chef who loved to cook as well as a Master Gardner. She was a vendor at the Independence Farmers' Market for many years, a tradition that she carried on from her parents. Many people bought her baked goods, garden produce, homemade sauces and stuffed pumpkins.
Mariana is survived by her husband, Perry D. Lawrence of Cedar Rapids; mother, Donna Harms of Rowley, Iowa; children, Bobbie Jean Julich of California, Cherish Mariana Julich of Cedar Rapids and Taylor (Leah) Julich of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Cheryl (Robert) Wagner of Cedar Rapids and Cathleen (Greg) Duggan of Mesa, Ariz.; and grandchildren, Arik and Donna Ritchison and Avah and Carson Julich.
She was preceded in death by her father.
