Marian was born Nov. 5, 1938, in Waterville, Iowa, to Lawrence and Harriet Livingston. Her banking career started while she was in high school, working part time for Waterville State Bank. After graduating from high school, Marian attended AIB banking college in Omaha, Neb. She worked in the banking industry for 43 years, starting at U.S. Bank, then City National Bank, and then became senior vice president of operations for Guaranty Bank and Trust, where she worked for 28 years. Marian married the love of her life, Arlen Lee Scheffert, on April 23, 1960, and they recently were blessed to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary.
Marian is survived by her husband, Arlen Scheffert, North Liberty; son, Tony Scheffert, Cedar Rapids; daughter, Terry (Paul) Scheffert Gorman, Rochester, Minn.; daughter, Tracy (Scott) Winker, Marion; five wonderful grandchildren who she loved dearly, Chad, Katelyn, Calvin, Grace and Ellen; and two brothers, Jim and Jack Livingston.

Marian had a very big heart and was kind and loving to all. She was hardworking, fun, witty and enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and friends.
She will be missed by all and forever loved.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the honor of Marian to the Anna Purna Ghosh Foundation (www.apg foundation.org), which supports local cancer patients' needs.
