Marian Blunt, 84, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at the United Church of Monticello, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello. The family has requested that all visitors please wear a mask.
Surviving is her husband of 64 years, James; four children, Daniel, Jeffrey (Kate Williams), Lisa and Dennis; and two grandsons, Jayson and Michael.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jeremy; her sister, Betty (Buzz) Redmond; and her brothers, John (Vera), Arthur, Harold (Clara), Paul(Irma) and Clarence (Laura) Eiben.
Marian Francis Eiben was born Feb. 5, 1938, at the John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa. Marian graduated from the Onslow High School in 1956. She married James Blunt June 8, 1957. The couple lived on their farm near Scotch Grove. Marian worked at AsGrow Seed in Anamosa for 15 years. Marian enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and being a wife, mother and grandmother.
