Marguerite Katherine Teague, 103, of Iowa City, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at
Lantern Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coralville. Private services will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Courageous in care of Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City, IA 52240.
Marguerite was born Sept. 18, 1911, in West Liberty, Iowa, the daughter of William and Margaret (Ostendorp) Jehle. She attended country school in Lone Tree and later attended junior high in Iowa City, where she completed 10th grade. On July 25, 1927, Marguerite married Charles Teague in Coralville and the couple remained happily married for over 65 years until Charles' death in 2001.
For over 30 years, Marguerite worked as a nurses aide at University Hospitals and Clinics until retiring in 1960.
Survivors include her special niece, Beverly Rook of Boulder, Colo.; several other nieces and nephews; and friends.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her four brothers, Ray, William, Charlie and Robert.
