Marguerite A. Kahler, 92, of Marengo, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, March 13, at First United Methodist Church, Marengo, with the Rev. Matt German officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Marguerite is survived by her four children, Iona (Dale) Collingwood and Steven, both of Marengo, Lonnie (Norrine) Kahler of Ely and Marjean (Ron) Traut of Garrison; 10 grandchildren; Lori (Dave) Shepard of Marengo, Mike (Angie) Timm of Blairs-town, Jeff (Tami) Timm of Atkins, Kari (Tim) McCaw of Marengo, Dennis (Vickie) Traut of Marengo, Doug (Jody) Traut of Atkins, Stacy (Curt) Lowe of Swisher, Kelly Norman of Rock Island, Ill., J.R. Kahler of Ladora and Jaime Cronbaugh of Marengo; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Deloris Miller, Geneseo, Ill., and Elaine (Larry) Means, Greenfield; two brothers, Eugene Blount, Victor, and Wayne Blount, Amana; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Koenig of Walker and Esther Kahler of Portland, Ore.; one brother-in-law, Donald Kahler of Oceanside, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd, in 1991; one brother, Edwin; four sisters, Geneva, Maxine, Ruth and Dorothy; and a grandchild, Brian Floyd Kahler.
Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
