MARGUERITE "MARGIE" CARNEY

Marguerite "Margie" Carney, 68, of Parnell, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Graveside memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, St. Joseph Cemetery, Parnell, Iowa. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Arrangements handled by Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
Marguerite is survived by her partner, Duane Wiebold of Parnell; a son, Jim Carney (Jessica Keller) of Chelsea; a granddaughter, Bethany Carney (Jake Weldon) of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and a grandson, J.J. Carney of Williamsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Pug Kelly.
Marguerite Joan Carney was born Dec. 18, 1946, in Parnell, Iowa, to James V. and Henrietta Wille Carney. She attended the Parnell schools and graduated from Williamsburg High School. Margie owned and operated the Royal Beauty Salon for 23 years, the Parnell Sandwich and Cone for seven years, and for the last 26 years has worked as a nutritionist with Handicare Day Care, Coralville. Margie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and watching "Blue Bloods" and "General Hospital" on television.
