Margo Ann Beck, 77, of Cedar Rapids, passed away early in the morning of Monday, April 9, 2018. She was surrounded by all three of her sons at the time of her passing.
Services will be noon Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Marion Christian Church, 1050 McGowan Road, Marion, Iowa. The Rev. Peter Mitchell will officiate. At Margo's request, she was to be cremated.
Margo was born Oct. 22, 1940, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Marvin and Marjorie (Wright) Johnson. She was a 1958 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School, Des Moines. In 1959, she married Ralph Beck of Woodward, Iowa, and together they had three sons, Michael, Ted and Douglas.
Margo was an avid fan of golf, having played during her high school and college years. She also was an accomplished piano player. She loved listening to Neil Diamond and classical music. Margo was a lifelong, rabid, Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Survivors include children, Mike (Jamie) Beck, Ted (Megan) Beck and Doug (Cheryl Brown) Beck; six grandchildren, Chase Beck, Anna (Devon) DeMoss, Abigail Beck, Jahn Terralumina, Jennifer (Humberto) Mejia and Megan (Dustin) Williams; five great-grandchildren, Adelyn DeMoss, Alissa Johnson, Julie Johnson, Gabriella Mejia and Sophia Mejia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin K. and Marjorie J. Johnson.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Marion Christian Church.
