Margie Thompson, 70, died Sept. 1, 2015, peacefully surrounded by her family and friends at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Crema-tion Service, Marion. Family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Ryan.
Survivors include her husband, Roger of Springville; her son, Matt of Springville; daughter, Julie of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Michael; and her sister, Marilyn Pfluhaupt of Coggon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Mildred.
Margie was born July 10, 1945, to Willis and Delia (McGuire) Mills in Independence, Iowa. She graduated from Coggon High School in 1963. Margie married her husband, Roger Thompson, in Coggon on Sept. 26, 1970. She was employed at Rockwell Collins.
Margie was a member of the Cedar Rapids Kennel Club, Eastern Iowa Pond Society and Cedar Rapids Corvette Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be given to the four local charities supported by the Cedar Rapids Corvette Club in Margie's name.
