Margie A. Main, 75, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. A private memorial service will take place. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Curtis (Linda Felton) Main of Independence, Tony (Christina) Main of Quasqueton, Gail (David) Barker of Louisburg, Kan., and Aron (Vicki) Main of Galena, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Shirley (Melvin) German of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Evelyn Feally.
Margie was born July 9, 1939, the daughter of Evlon and Ethel (Wall) Schan-beck, in Rowley, Iowa. On Jan. 1, 1960, she married John Main and lived in Independence, where they raised their four children. They later divorced and Margie moved to Cedar Rapids.
Margie loved children and was a nanny for 20 years.
