Margie Joan Knutson, 77, of West Union, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, surrounded by her family, at

Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse, Wis. A cele-bration of her life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Zion Lutheran Church, 130 Washington St., West Union, with the Rev. Nancy Larson presiding. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the church. Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be given to the Margie J. Knutson Memorial Fund, c/o Brenda Schaller, 309 Mound St., Decorah, IA 52101.

Margie is survived by her pride and joy, her seven children, Becky Knutson (Jim Usgaard), Urbandale, Beth (Gordon) Sharp, Crosby, Minn., Barb (Mike) Baker, Grinnell, Brenda Schaller, Decorah, Betsy Jepsen (Clarence Hudson), Urbandale, Brooke (Rich) Carter, Denver, Iowa, and Bill (Mary) Knutson, Fairbank; 12 grandchildren, Chelsea Doshan, Craig Doshan, A.J. Baker, Trent Baker, Casey Schaller, Zac Schaller, Chris Jepsen, Nick Jepsen, Jessica Carter, Jaci Carter, Katelyn Knutson and Emma Knutson; great-granddaughter, Ava Doshan; two brothers, William Buisman, Plano, Texas, and Gerald (Dixie) Buisman, Marion; along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nellie Mae (Ross) Buisman; her husband, Richard Earl Knutson, in February 2005; her sister-in-law and best friend, Mary Trese Buisman; and her neighbor and special friend, June Kraft.
