Margaret Schley, 96, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at Pinicon Ridge Care Center, Anamosa. Funeral
services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday,
Nov. 17, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. Interment: Norwich Cemetery, Martelle. The Rev. John Kaiser will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; and five siblings, Bill Smith, Eleanor Smith, Gladys Koppenhaver, Betty Smith and Esther Edwards.
Margaret Jessie Smith was born March 14, 1919, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Chloe Leaper Smith. She graduated from Anamosa Community Schools in 1937.
Margaret was employed at Reliance Shirt Factory and Northwestern Bell. She married Howard Schley on Sept. 20, 1946, at United Methodist Church, Anamosa. The couple farmed west of Martelle.
Walter preceded her in death in 1978, and Margaret stayed on the farm for several years before moving to Martelle in 1986. She moved from her home to the care center in July 2010.
Margaret was a member of Martelle United Methodist Church, UMW and Pythian Sisters.
