MARGARET E. RYAN 1928 ? 2015 Ryan Margaret E. Ryan 86, of Columbia, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at her home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Ryan, Iowa. Margaret was born April 7, 1928, in Ryan, Iowa, to James V. and Ellen L. O'Neil Ryan. She attended Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids and Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. She received her anesthesia training at St. John Hospital in Springfield, Ill. Margaret moved to Columbia in 1955 and worked as a certified nurse anesthetist at Boone Hospital Center for 37 years. She was a very active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She is survived by two sisters, Mary V. Arnold of Portage, Mich., and Katie Schmidt of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Frank Ryan of Greenfield, Wis., and Bob Ryan of Cedar Rapids; three sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Ryan, Bernadette Ryan and Judy Ryan; 30 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sister Monica Ryan; and three brothers, Ambrose, Tom and Jim Ryan. Memorials may be sent to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
