Margaret Emma Perkins, 87, of Swisher, died Monday, March 19, 2018, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Celebration of life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre
Margaret was born April 9, 1930, in Swisher, the daughter of Charles and Anna B. (Vanourney) Zobin. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Roosevelt High School, Class of 1948. She was united in marriage to Harry Lee Perkins Jr. on July 23, 1949, in Cedar Rapids. Margaret enjoyed going on fishing trips in Canada, bingo, watching sports and spending time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her children, Peggy Lee Pechota and Linda (Duane) McQuerry, both of Cedar Rapids, and Tom Perkins of Swisher; six grandchildren, Rachelle, Brett, Julie, John, Josh and Ryan; and six great-grandchildren, Kali, Paige, John, Tessa, Caden and Cole.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her siblings, AnnaMae, Charlotte, Dorothy and Joe; and her daughter-in-law, Lesta Perkins.
