Margaret Peiffer, 72, died peacefully in her home on Monday, July 31, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Friday. Interment will be in the Wilcox Cemetery, Viola. The Rev. Marty Schuhmacher will officiate at the services. Coffee and cookies will be served during
the visitation.
Surviving are four children, William Ellison, Fairview, Danny Peiffer, Sabula, Ben (Teresa) Peiffer, Mount Pleasant, and Cassie (Danny) Isaac, Cedar Rapids; her sister, Carrie Hart, Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, Daniel (Sam), Alyssa, Austin, Zach, Devon, Keegan, Cole, Zachariah, Elizabeth and Marcus; four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Vaugh, Dewey and Charlie; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, David, Nelda, Nancy, Marian, Don and Richard.
Margaret Ann Peiffer was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Fairview, Iowa. She was the daughter of Hiram and Mildred Raymond Cummings. Margaret attended the Fairview and Anamosa schools. She worked in several care centers during her career, which included the Anamosa Care Center, the Jones County Home and Crestview Acres in Marion. During her time, she was a certified CNA and a certified med tech. She enjoyed her work taking care of others. Margaret enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening and going to church.
