Margaret “Peg” Carrothers, 76, of Fairfax, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, in Cedar Rapids. She was blessed at the end of her life with the physical comfort of her dearest friend Marta; Mike and Linda Aubey; Janet Volesky, sister-in-law Roberta Sauders and Dale. Memorial Visitation Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born on August 8, 1948, in Salt Lake City Utah, to James and Helen (Leahy) Paddock. Peg graduated from Regis High School in Cedar Rapids; went to college at the University of Iowa; and received her master’s degree at St. Ambrose University in Davenport. She taught in the Cedar Rapids School District for over 30 years. Peg married Dale Carrothers in November of 1993. They have resided in Fairfax since 2003.
Peg is survived by her husband of 31 years, Dale; children, Mike, Pat and Kelly; Peg was a dear grandmother to six grandchildren. siblings, Pat and Ruth; and sister-in-law Roberta.
She was preceded into death by her parents; and her siblings James and Michael.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be given to Catherine McCauley Center in Cedar Rapids or to your favorite Charity in Peg’s Memory.
