MARGARET LYNNE "PEG" YANCEY
Cedar Rapids
Margaret Lynne "Peg" Yancey, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center. As per Peg's wishes, private family services will be held in Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Odessa, Mo. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Margaret was born Sept. 26, 1946, the beloved daughter of William and Ruth
Pueschel. She was raised in Santa Monica, Calif., before moving to Cedar Rapids. She married David Yancey on Nov. 19, 1967. He passed away in June of 2003. She worked at Turner Microphone for two years, Norand Corporation for 10 years and MCI for 16 years, before retiring in 2004.
She made many friends along the way and shared many laughs and tears with them, and was touched by their love and support during the saddest of times. She said "their friendships and kindness were key in helping her family through them."
She will be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor, her smile and zest for life. She was a good friend and a wonderful Mom who loved her family. She helped people who needed help and didn't ask for much in return just love and friendship. She will be missed.
She is survived by four sons, Rick of Robins, Jeff of Georgia, Tim (Anita) of Cedar Rapids and William of Kansas; 16 grandchildren, Kelly, Nicole, Timothy, Kimberly, Andrew, David, Robert, Samantha, Makayla, Elijah, Samuel, Max, William, Breanna, Charles and Kerry; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She loved all of them dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, David; and a grandson, SPC Dustin A. Yancey.
