MARGARET "PEGGY" LINT
Ely
Margaret "Peggy" Lint, 73, of North Liberty, formerly of Lansing and Ely, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Nov. 24, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Louis and Blanche Tow. On Feb. 2, 1963, she married Everett Lint in Marion. They began a journey together that resulted in three children, four grandchildren and a legacy of love and support that will be remembered for years to come.
Peggy raised their children in the Ely area while Everett farmed and worked as a postal service employee. When he retired in 2001, the two of them moved to a log home near Lansing, which was the culmination of their hard work together. When Everett passed away in 2010, Peggy kept the light on for him in Lansing. About a year ago, she returned to the area, residing in North Liberty, where she scoured for good books to read, and kept an eye on the craziest campaign for president that she had ever witnessed.
Peggy loved her family, trusted in her faith in God, had a heart of gold, and was fond of saying "Bless your heart." She will be missed when good news needs to be shared, at family gatherings, on shopping excursions, garage sales and auctions, and just because. Peggy was a kind, loving person, with great inner strength. She also was a great listener. Her sudden passing will make us shake our heads and marvel at the beauty of life and death.
Survivors include her three daughters, Tammy (Ron) of Ely, Jessica (Marty) of Swisher and Jodie (Terry) of Lansing; her four grandchildren, Nicole, Hallie, Katelyn and Cash; and her three siblings.
She was preceded in death by Everett; her parents; and three siblings.
There will be no services, but family and friends are encouraged to contact Peggy's family.
Any memorials are requested to be sent to 1570 Shady Ct. NW, Swisher, IA 52338.
A special thank-you to hospice at St. Luke's and Dr. Julie Beard of the Emergency Department at St. Luke's for her great compassion.
