MARGARET LEIGH
Lisbon
Margaret Leigh, 86, of Lisbon, died at home on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon (formerly Morgan's), by Celebrant Mary Morgan. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial: Mount Vernon Cemetery.
Survivors include her sister, Rose Schwichten-berg of Cedar Rapids; sisters-in-law, Alberta Light of Lisbon and Maxine Schott of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was born Feb. 18, 1929, on the family farm near Lisbon, the daughter of John and Helen (Bohr) Light. She graduated from Lisbon High School. On July 18, 1946, she married Jack Leigh in Lisbon. Margaret and Jack farmed all of their lives before moving to town in 1992. Jack died in 1993.
She will be remembered for her many parties, especially at Halloween. Margaret also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; siblings, Marvin Light, Norbert Light, Mary Connell; and two infant brothers.
Memorials are suggested to Lisbon Fire Department or Mount Vernon-Lisbon Ambulance.
