Margaret "Maggie" C. Heims, 82, of Cascade, formerly of Monticello and Sand Springs, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Monticello, where a Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul Baldwin. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello.
Margaret was born April 21, 1932, in Chadron, Neb., the daughter of Herman and Leona (Sherlock) Weber. She graduated from St. Paul Senior High School in Worthington. Margaret married Merlin Heims on June 29, 1957, in Worthington. He preceded her in death in 2009.
Survivors include her five children, Debra (Terry) Williams of Wyoming, Douglas (Jennifer) Heims of Cedar Rapids, Denise (Jeff Altland) Heims of Redington Shores, Fla., Dana (Barry Wassmer) Heims of Anamosa and Deann (Greg) Barneson of Monticello; grandchildren, Kelsey and Riley Williams, Courtney (Abdul) Jammal, Alexis, Cullen and Ethan Heims; three great-grandchildren, Laney and Carter Otte and Zoiy Jammal; a brother, Richard (Barb) Weber of Dubuque; two sisters, Clara Tobin of Worthington and Bernadette Weber of Dubuque; and a sister-in-law, Betty Weber of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Wilfred (Harriet), Clarence, Vincent, Jerome (Mida), Bernard and Donald (Mary Ann); and brothers-in-law, Hank Hess and Dick Tobin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of Dubuque or Above and Beyond Hospice.
