Margaret Teresa "Marge" Haughenbury, 89, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, formerly of Coggon, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at the care center. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at St. John's Catholic Church, Coggon. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, and one hour before the Mass at the church on Wednesday. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Coggon.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Barb) Haughenbury of Marion, Linda (Charles) Liston of Marion and Jim (Anita) Haughenbury of Coggon; grandchildren, Chad (Casey) Haughenbury, Amy (Symon) Sanborn, Bryan Wermager, Brandi (Luke) Swanson, Todd (Aimee Dunn) Liston, Luke (Jamie) Haughenbury, Bret (Jen) Haughenbury and Jana (Tim) Dolan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, Leonard DeKesel, Irene Pohlmann and Clara Triebel.
Margaret was born Dec. 11, 1924, in Victor, Iowa, the daughter of Leopold and Maria (Anthony) DeKesel. She married Richard Haughenbury on Aug. 1, 1942, in Victor. Marge was proud to be a farm wife and to come from Belgian heritage. She enjoyed yard work and growing flowers in her gardens. Marge also enjoyed crocheting, china painting and baking special pies for her family.
