Margaret Frasher-Bishop, 90, of Anamosa, died peacefully Monday, July 28, 2025.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Anamosa. Rev. Sean Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Anamosa. The family will greet friends from 9 a.m. to the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or a charity of the donor’s choice in honor of Margaret’s lifelong spirit of giving. Margaret Ann Houska was born October 11, 1934, in Winthrop, IA to her parents Albert and Nellie (O’Brien) Houska. She graduated from Viola High School. She was married to Richard J. Frasher. Together they had six children. They later parted and she married Bill Bishop. She was employed at Rockwell Collins for 38 years until her retirement.
She is survived by her children Michael (Lynne) Frasher, Oklahoma City, OK, Julie (Dan) Miller, Patty Frasher, Ellen (Brian) Pospichal, Dennis (Karla) Frasher, and Jenny Frasher, all of Anamosa, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and special nieces Mary Jo and Ann, and nephew Lou.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, a grandson Matthew, a son-in-law Bill Conmey, her parents, and her siblings Mildred and John.
She had fond memories of playing basketball for Viola High School. She loved to cook and host family gatherings and be surrounded by her family. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stone City.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Cottage Grove Place for their care. A special thank-you to Care Initiatives Hospice of Manchester for their loving care, support, and guidance. Without their team we would not have been able to spend these last three months with our Mom at home, where she was happiest.
