Margaret F. Day, 77, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a short Illness. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of
Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m.
Monday.
Survivors include two sons, Scott (Nicole) and Michael, both of Cedar Rapids; and three grandchildren, Heather, Stephanie and Jonathan.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Margaret was born Jan. 31, 1936, in Davenport, the daughter of Ivan and Bessie Shaffer. She married John W. Day on June 18, 1961, in Cedar Rapids. John passed away in 2005.
Margaret was a homemaker and a volunteer for several community organizations as well as at the Cedar Rapids school system. She enjoyed watching Iowa basketball, her sons' high school activities and especially the time spent with her beloved grandchildren.
Margaret was a wonderful mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
