Margaret A. (Arnold) Contard, 68, of Liverpool, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015, at Crouse Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of the late Duane and Henrietta (Dows) Arnold. Margaret graduated from Washington High School, Cedar Rapids, and was an avid reader and political activist. She enjoyed talking to people and spending time with friends and family who were most important to her.
She was predeceased by her brother, Duane Arnold Jr., and her sister, Elizabeth Arnold.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 38 1/2 years, Christopher Contard; her two sons, Christopher (Ellen) Contard Jr. of Aurora, Colo., and Ian Contard of Liverpool; her daughter, Amanda Contard of Liverpool; five grandchildren, Jake Lazzaro, Jordan, Nora, Alex and Annabelle Contard; two sisters, Helen B. Arnold and Mary G. Arnold; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home in North Syracuse, N.Y., followed by a funeral Mass in celebration of Margaret's life at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 10, at the funeral home, located at 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Road), North Syracuse, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one's charity of choice.
