Marcia Marie Thomsen, 62, of Vinton, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in her home surrounded by her
family. Me-morial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 30, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. Sixth St.) in Vinton, with Jeff Frase officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
A memorial fund has been established.
Marcia Marie Rommann was born Sept. 28, 1951, to Dale and Marcella (Donnelly) Rommann. She was united in marriage to Allen Thomsen on Jan. 16, 1971, in Vinton. He preceded her in death March 25, 2000.
Marica received her nursing degree from Kirkwood Community College in 1993. She worked as an LPN at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab for the past 23 years.
She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 57.
Marcia is survived by her sons, Michael Thomsen of Gladbrook and Matthew (Inga) Thomsen and Dan (Stacie) Thomsen, both of Vinton; her grandchildren, Brett and Brianna of Gladbrook, Mattison and Mackenzie Thomsen and Brelynn and Dylan Beck, all of Vinton; one great-grandchild, Allison Beck of Vinton; and her brother, Michael Rommann, also of Vinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Marcella Rommann; her mother- and father-in-law, Ralph and Emma Thomsen; and her husband, Allen Thomsen.
