Marcia Ann Nylund, 74, died Friday, May 8, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral liturgy will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, officiated by Deacon Al Scharosch. Entombment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Marcia was born June 7, 1940, in Duluth, Minn., to Michael and Ruth (Conway) Woods. After attending college, she married Curtiss Nylund on June 4, 1960, in Virginia, Minn. They moved to Cedar Rapids shortly after their marriage. Marcia worked for Cedar Rapids Public Schools for 13 years, serving as a secretary and a counselor. She later assisted her husband at A-1 Electric.
Marcia enjoyed being with friends and family to play dice and cards, especially rummy and hearts. She had fun camping with her family and loved taking yearly family vacations.
She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by three sons, Todd (Shelly) of Manchester, Les (Jacquie) of Castle Rock, Colo., and Kevin (Gina) of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters, Colleen "Coco" (Layne) Smith of Baker, La., and Carrie (Greg) Manhart of Fairfax; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one more soon to be born.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; husband of nearly 55 years, Curtiss, on April 19, 2015; brothers, Joe and Bob Woods; and sister, Char Saari.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Marcia's name has been established in care of Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, 4200 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.

The Nylund family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, and Hospice of Mercy for its care and compassion toward both Marcia and Curt. They were in good hands, now they are in God's hands.
